As the negotiations for the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam intensified and statements intensified between Cairo and Addis Ababa, it appears that a battle has also moved to social media, as members of the Egyptian security services began to mobilize an electronic battle in response to a similar Ethiopian campaign.

Yesterday, officer Ahmed Shaaban, who is close to the director of the Egyptian intelligence, Abbas Kamel, inaugurated a poem entitled "nile4all", meaning the Nile for all, saying that the Nile River brings people together and does not separate them, considering that the government of Ethiopia is committing a grave mistake against the people of the Great River.

What is remarkable is that Shaaban attached the translation to the post in both the English and Amharic languages, which was received by the electronic committees of the Egyptian regime, and started to retweet the translated text itself.

Moghradoun said that the Egyptian campaign comes in anticipation of an expected campaign launched by Ethiopians under the name "nile4ethiopia", according to which the Nile is for Ethiopia, according to posts by Facebook users in Egypt.

Dozens of Egyptian blog posts circulated the tag accompanied by an Amharic translation with the aim of reaching the Ethiopian people in order to convince the Ethiopians of the Egyptian viewpoint in its negotiations with Ethiopia, which reached a dead end, and news of the Ethiopian side filling the dam nominated without regard to Egypt's demands to agree in advance on rules to fill and operate the dam.

Our case is fair, but it is absent or absent from the international media, and our right to the waters of the Nile is fixed as our right and the right of all peoples of the Nile Valley to life .. Tweet in all languages that # Nile4All

In the face of this racist slogan that says that the Nile to Ethiopia means denial of the rights of all the Nile Basin countries, we need to defend our right to water with this hashtag # Nile4all and assure that water is for everyone, it is a battle of survival that each of us is fighting with what he can

This comes with the escalation of the Renaissance Dam crisis, where statements by Sudanese officials confirmed the low level of the Nile River, and Egyptian foreign officials escalated the tone of criticism of the Ethiopian side, but without threats to take serious measures, as President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi did in another file threatening the recognized government of reconciliation in Libya. With it internationally that "Al-Jafra is a red line for Egypt's national security."

It seems that the electronic war between Egypt and Ethiopia has already started weeks ago, and went beyond just activating the tags on social media, as Ethiopia accused Egypt of launching an electronic attack on Ethiopian websites and electronic platforms.

The Ethiopian Information Network Security Agency announced at the end of last month that it had foiled many cyber attacks from Egypt from 17 to 21 June last, with the aim of disrupting economic and political activities in Ethiopia.

"The cyber attack was arranged by groups called Cyber Hopes Group," the Ethiopian Information Security Agency said. "Cyber criminals made long preparations and tried to carry out a severe attack on institutions, especially on Friday, Saturday, 19 and 20 June."

The information security agency stated that "the attackers tried to disrupt the infrastructure of the websites of 13 public organizations and 4 NGOs."

The Ethiopia Arabic page, which broadcasts Ethiopian propaganda in Arabic, affirmed that the Ethiopians' use of social media platforms to confront "fake news and propaganda that comes from Egypt is a positive and important matter."

The page quoted a summary of interviews conducted by the Ethiopian Fana Radio with a number of law professors and university press in Ethiopia, who called for intensifying activities on social media platforms to thwart the efforts of Egyptians trying to reflect a distorted image of the world with false information.

The director of international public relations at Debre University, Marcus Germau-Achbir, said that the Egyptian media is making efforts for Los Ethiopia as unjust in the rest of the world, noting that the Ethiopians movement on the communication sites "was hindered by these efforts."

For his part, Ayali Degen, a lecturer at the University of Dallas, said that the Egyptian government and the Egyptian media are working to protect the private interest by "creating false information", noting that the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram, and other media destinations and sites have recently been working alongside to publish "news" The false and misleading fabrication of public opinion. "

Degen Yaman, a law professor at the University of Luo, said that the Ethiopians are known to stand together for the national interest, calling for the need to develop a vision to rationalize activities on social media platforms.

The Ethiopian researcher stressed the need for the government to continue providing citizens with recent information and developments on the topic of the Renaissance Dam.
