July 19, 2020 There have been 259,848 new cases of coronavirus in the world in 24 hours. It is the biggest increase in a day since the start of the pandemic. The World Health Organization made it known by publishing the data on its website on Saturday. The biggest increases were in the United States, Brazil, India and South Africa.

The global death toll has risen by 7,360, the largest daily increase since May 10. 

The previous record had been recorded by the WHO just a day earlier, Friday. The total number of coronavirus cases exceeded 14 million on Saturday, with over 600,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Another 60,207 cases of coronavirus contamination were identified in the United States within 24 hours, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally Saturday.   

These new cases bring the total number of infections registered in the United States since the beginning of the pandemic to 3,698,209. On the other hand, there were 832 deaths in one day, for a total of 139,960.
