Sudan announced today, Sunday, that "a number of its stations on the Nile River have been abandoned due to a sudden receding of water flowing into the White and Blue Niles and the Nile River, which could be the result of Ethiopia beginning to fill the reservoir of the Renaissance Dam."

The General Director of the Khartoum State Water Authority, Engineer Anwar Al-Sadat Al-Hajj Mohamed, said in press statements, that “Al-Salih stations (A) and (B), Bayt Al-Mal, North Bahri, Umm Kutti, and the tree were out of service due to the sudden receding of waters of the White and Blue Nile and the Nile River”, They revealed the desalination of raw water pump platforms to their lowest levels in the Soba water station, the old Bahri water station, the Al-Muqrin water station and the Al-Manara water station.

Sadat indicated that "what resulted from the decline led to a reduction in the quantities of clean water produced from the mentioned stations," explaining that "the authority informed the reservoir management of the departure of its stations from service for a sudden decline."

The Sudanese official pointed out that "the reservoir management has returned and the authority has informed that a number of the gates of the Roseires reservoir have been opened, and that the water will flow towards the states in the Nile track within 48 hours, expecting a scarcity of water supply in a number of neighborhoods in the state and its severe shortage in other remote areas .
