The Wilmer X singer was born in Limhamn in Malmö and still lives in the city.
This year's Skåne is awarded by the Skåne Flag Day Foundation and Kvällposten. The winner, who is voted for the foundation's followers and the newspaper's readers, will receive a Scanian flag and a diploma created by the artist Harriet Ståhlberg.
The award has been handed out since 1967. Last year, the comedian Jesper Rönndahl became the Scanian of the year.
