The newly created Corona virus has killed more than 600,000 people in the world since its appearance in China last December, including more than 200,000 in Europe and 160,000 in Latin America, according to the Worldometer website that specializes in monitoring virus statistics.

The website data showed - Saturday noon - that the number of deaths in the world rose to more than 600 thousand, while the total infections rose to 14.2 million, and the number of people recovering from the virus approached 8.5 million people around the world.

These numbers only reflect part of the actual number of injuries, as many countries only conduct tests for the most serious cases, while other countries give priority to conducting tests to track contacts of the injured, in addition to that a number of poor countries have limited examination capabilities.

The United States topped the world in the number of deaths with 142 thousand cases, and Brazil ranked second (77 thousand), then Britain (45 thousand).

Mexico came fourth (38 thousand deaths), then Italy (35 thousand), while France ranked sixth (30 thousand), followed by Spain (28 thousand).

While India came eighth (26 thousand deaths), followed by Iran (13 thousand), then Peru (12 thousand).

Iran bans gatherings

In a related context, the Iranian authorities banned all types of gatherings throughout the country, as part of the measures to combat the Corona virus.

The head of the National Anti-Corona Corps Hussein Zolfikari told reporters that he had sent a circular banning all kinds of gatherings to all states of the country.

President Hassan Rouhani said, "The Ministry of Health estimates that 25 million Iranians have been infected with the Corona virus so far, 14,000 of whom have died, while another 35 million are at risk of infection."

Rouhani added at the meeting of the Corona Virus Control Committee that the country has witnessed two waves of the outbreak, and its spread will likely continue until next March.

The figures that Rouhani mentioned are based on a new report by the Ministry of Health, which is much higher than the official number of injuries of 269 thousand injuries, and the president did not address in his speech broadcast on this contradiction.
