Queen Elizabeth II granted the 100-year-old Captain Tom Moore the title "Walk" in recognition of the efforts of the man who had become a national hero in Britain by raising millions of pounds for health workers during the Coved 19-pandemic.

The veteran warrior - who participated in World War II - collected a record amount of 33 million pounds ($ 41 million) when he cut 100 laps in his garden using a walking tire last April in preparation to celebrate his 100th birthday.

The 94-year-old queen smiled as she wore the title at an open-air ceremony at Windsor Castle.

"I thank you very much," said Moore - who wore a black jacket and was based on the walking tire - and the queen said, "Wonderful ... what an amazing amount that I raised," before she greeted the Moore family.

Captain Tom's endeavors have touched the hearts of people in Britain and abroad as they face the Corona pandemic crisis.

Moore has already become an honorary colonel and honorary member of the English cricket team.
