A bipartisan federation of parliamentarians will be launched next week to protect Hong Kong citizens over China's National Security Act.
The general assembly of the new Parliamentary Assembly will be held on the 29th of next week, and former Defense Minister Nakatani of the LDP and Shimodori Yamao of the National Democratic Party will attend the House of Representatives.
Mr. Nakatani and Mr. Yamao also act as China's representatives of the Parliamentary Union, in which foreign parliamentarians also participate, saying that China should adopt a strong stance on the introduction of the Hong Kong National Security Act.
In order to protect the freedom and rights of Hong Kong citizens, the Bipartisan League of Parliament will consider extending the period of stay in Japan without a visa and relaxing the conditions for issuing work visas, and will work with the government.
In addition, the government and the National Assembly will investigate when there is a case where the human rights of Hong Kong citizens are violated, and will aim to enact legislators to enable persons involved to take sanctions such as asset freezes.
"I want to work beyond the factions to rescue the people of Hong Kong and stop China from violating human rights," Nakatani said.
