July 18, 2020 Russian figure skater Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya, who represented Australia internationally, died in Moscow at the age of 20, according to Russian media reports. The athlete would have committed suicide by jumping from an apartment window. 

Together with her partner, Harley Windsor, Ekaterina had won the junior gold world championship in pairs in 2017. She won gold medals in numerous international events and was twice an Australian national champion. In 2019 she had been forced to retire for health reasons. 

The environments of Russian and international skating were shocked by death. Ekaterina, who lived in Canada, had gone to Moscow to visit her parents but could not return due to the blocking of flights and the closure of borders. According to Russian media reports, he was going through a period of psychological difficulties, personal and financial problems. Investigators are trying to figure out what happened inside the apartment last night. Police sources say the girl left a note with the word 'love' on it.
