A recent study, conducted by the Ministry of Community Development, based on the psychological support program that it applied to a number of mothers of children of determination, concluded that there are six main reasons, which led to exposure to psychological pressures and troubles during domestic isolation due to the Corona pandemic, most notably the lack of understanding of the facts and information related to the pandemic .

The results of the study showed, according to Wafa Hamad Bin Sulaiman, director of the Department of Care and Rehabilitation of People of Determination in the Ministry of Community Development, to «Emirates Today» that most of the people who suffered psychologically during the isolation, were those who did not follow a clear and regular plan in their practice of life activities Everyday.

She emphasized that psychologists asserted that the failure of a person to organize his time, particularly during crises, leads to confusion, dispersion and anxiety, because it impedes his obtaining the required share of relaxation and comfort .. in terms of quantity and quality.

The Ministry implemented a psychological support program for mothers, to help them overcome the negative effects of the period of domestic isolation to combat the Corona pandemic.

Bin Sulaiman summarized the most prominent reasons that led to mothers experiencing psychological troubles during the period of isolation, which included their inability to understand certain facts and information related to the pandemic conditions and the conditions of their children and their reactions within these conditions, and the lack of experience in how to implement the mechanisms of educating their children at home, and thirdly, their inability to determine The source or the entity to which they turn their inquiries and questions, in addition to their need for support or obtaining a specific service at separate times of the day, while he was not aware of what is the appropriate time to communicate with the authority responsible for providing support or services.

She added that among the reasons, too, is their need to release negative energy and talk about their problems, at a time when they do not want to initiate a request for help, but rather wait for the initiative from the supportive party, which increased pressure on them, at a time when they could reach a number of sources of declared psychological support It is reported by the Ministry and other concerned authorities.

She explained that the fifth reason why mothers are subjected to psychological stress during the crisis is their neglect of caring for themselves, which leads to an internal burden and obstacle towards accomplishing many tasks, as they must not forget their human needs that require attention to appearance and health, the exercise of some hobbies, and communication with friends through the available means Remotely.

She pointed out that most of the mothers who experienced psychological pressure during the isolation, were those who did not follow a clear plan in organizing the dates and content of daily activities that family members should perform, each according to his needs and health conditions, and his role in following up the affairs of the home.

Bin Sulaiman stressed that studies and research confirm that the time of isolation, during crises and pandemics, does not mean non-commitment to perform tasks, according to a scheduled time plan, because failure to do so leads to frustration and sagging, which causes tension and psychological pain.
