In recent months, it has burned in several places around Lund. The police are investigating about 20 fires from March to June, of which ten of them have been in schools.

The latest fire, which was found on the night of June 30, was at Mårtensskolan. A quick extinguishing work meant that the damage was not so extensive. Like several of the other fires in the municipality, the incident is classified as arson, according to the police.

After the fire at Mårtensskolan, several Lund residents express concern about the events in the city.

- There have been both car fires and school fires here in the area on several occasions. I think it's awful, especially for the kids. Coming back to a school where it has burned and been destroyed, it is awful, says Bengt Henricson who lives near Mårtensskolan.

The police are looking for a connection

Most of the fires in Lund have no natural explanation but are believed to have been started. The police are looking for possible connections between the fires.

- We look at whether they have a connection and whether there are any similarities or differences. But it is difficult to say at the moment, says Ewa-Gun Westford, investigator and spokesperson for the police.
