A 1.5 year old child died in Chelles on Thursday morning. The boy "escaped the vigilance of his grandmother and climbed to access the window which was open," said the Codis of Seine-et-Marne. He fell from the sixth floor of an apartment building. When the firefighters arrived shortly after 11:30 am, the child presented "a significant hemorrhage and was in cardiopulmonary arrest and could not be resuscitated".

In France, between 0 and 6 years old, falling is the most frequent accident and domestic accident is the leading cause of death for children, according to statistics from the Ministry of Solidarity and Health.
