The corona crisis has hit ferry traffic between Trelleborg and Germany hard. Before Tuesday this week, all Swedish travelers who went to Germany had to be quarantined for two weeks. But this week came the news of lifting the quarantine rules.

- On Monday we had 1,000 bookings. And on Wednesday, one day after the decision came, we had 2,400 bookings, says Erik Lewenhaupt, press officer at Stena Line.

In Germany, corona restrictions vary in different regions. In Berlin, for example, you have to wear a mouth guard in all shops and you travel by public transport.

- We recommend all our passengers to read what applies in the particular region to which you are traveling in Germany, says Erik Lewenhaupt.

"Became non-existent overnight"

TT-Line in Trelleborg noticed a clear difference when the pandemic came and the travel restrictions to Germany were stricter.

- Our freight traffic has worked well during the crisis. But our passenger bookings became non-existent overnight, says Anette Wugk, press officer at TT-Line.

And here, too, a difference has been noticed since the restrictions were eased this week.

- We do not have any figures yet, but there has been a sharp increase in just a few days. And now we hope that we can make up for what we have lost during the pandemic, says Anette Wugk.
