According to the Investigative Committee, in 2013, a Shakhban Hasanov, a native of Dagestan serving a sentence for arms trafficking, created a terrorist community in the colony, and after his release declared himself “the head of an illegal armed group” operating in Dagestan.

“Subsequently, on March 31, 2015, with an encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers in the city of Khasavyurt, the Republic of Dagestan, he was liquidated,” they said.

At the same time, the composition of the still existing terrorist community from 2013 to 2019 in the colony included more than 100 convicts.

According to the investigation, the head of the correctional colony (PKU IK-2 UFSIN of Russia in the Republic of Kalmykia) Batayev and his former deputy Tsamaev helped the leaders of the criminal group for money, in particular, brought mobile phones, tablets and banned extremist literature to the colony.

“Also, community members were informed in advance about searches and searches being planned by FSIN officers,” the ministry said.

Suspects are detained.

In March, the Moscow City Court sentenced the former head of the capital’s chief of the SK of Russia, General Alexander Drymanov, to 12 years in a maximum security penal colony in a criminal case involving two bribes.
