The U.S. State Department Bulletin shows that despite the ban, European students holding U.S. visas can still arrive in the U.S. in the fall to study. The same applies to students who do not yet have a visa but may obtain a visa. In addition, some reciprocal exchange students and dependents or children of foreigners holding US visas will also be exempted.
Reuters said the US State Department has not commented on this.
At present, the EU has suggested that member states open the external border to 12 other countries, but the United States is not included.
