Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services reported that 14 women gave birth in the ambulance in the first half of this year, compared to three cases during the same period last year.

The CEO of the Foundation, Khalifa Al-Drai, said that stomach, intestine, nerves and respiratory diseases topped the list of reports in the first half.

Al-Derai told «Emirates Today» that the team of paramedics in the organization managed to deliver 14 women inside the ambulance, surprised them by the delivery process before they arrived at the hospital, noting that the institution launched the first female respondent in July 2017 to treat and transport women’s injuries, births and children, within The specialized services provided by the Foundation, and Dubai exclusively and excels it over ancient and advanced cities in the field of ambulance.

He pointed out that the institution also provides maternity and childhood services with full female ambulance staff, and this service dealt with a large number of births that were transferred within the emergency cases during the past year, including gynecological cases of female employees who were at work and were treated and born in the hospital.

Al-Dray continued that the number of births from the beginning of this year until the end of last June amounted to 14 births inside ambulances, pointing out that birth is one of the emergency cases that can occur at any moment, and that parents should reassure us regarding Dubai ambulance crews, As all the female paramedics were well trained and qualified, and the female component was devoted only to dealing with all of these cases.
