It was at the end of June that the Swedish Work Environment Authority inspected the nursing home Lillviksgården in Storvik and discovered that the unauthorized protective visors were being used. The visor was used in close-up care of patients.

The face visor was manufactured by a company in China and was not approved as protective equipment in the EU.

A few days later, the Swedish Work Environment Authority decided to ban the municipality from using the visor because there is an immediate and serious risk of ill health. The ban was combined with an ongoing fine of SEK 100,000 for each occasion that the visor was used after the ban.

The Swedish Work Environment Authority also gave the safety representative the right to interrupt work at the workplace if the municipality did not follow the decision.
