The Swedish Transport Agency must complete its assignment and submit a proposal to the government no later than 1 October this year.
The assignment also includes reviewing the age limit that exists at 15 years today, ie whether it needs to be raised. The Swedish Transport Agency will also review whether lessors should require a driver's license and certificate of education to rent a jet ski.
The background to the assignment is high-profile incidents and accidents with jet skis this year.
