Known for his patriotism displayed, Patrice Quarteron slipped towards the police. The former muay-thai world champion was arrested on Thursday and briefly placed in police custody at the Evry police station (Essonne). According to a source familiar with the matter, the 41-year-old boxer "used words likely to characterize death threats against the police and used his mobile phone to film them".

The facts occurred while Patrice Quarteron, known for his performances in the ring but also for his outspokenness, his outrageousness and his clashes with rapper Booba, went to the police station to take news of a complaint he had filed recently for "degradation by dangerous means". On June 20, his home in Corbeil-Essonnes had indeed been targeted by gunfire, without causing any casualties.

Four hours in police custody

"The tone rose very quickly," said a source familiar with the matter. Patrice Quarteron was therefore placed in police custody at 2:40 p.m. for "death threat on a person holding public authority" and "invasion of privacy", said the prosecution. He was then released at around 6.30pm on the basis of a decision by the prosecution, "time to continue the investigations".

The former boxer's home had already been targeted by gunfire on January 8. This time, bullet holes were found on the facade as well as sockets. No one had been injured.
