“Ivan Safronov during a conversation with members of the commission said that he quit smoking and reads a lot - 700 pages a day. He asks his relatives to write daily newspapers in his jail, ”the human rights activist said.

According to him, Safronov has no complaints about the conditions of detention, drops from a chronic cold are promptly brought to him from the medical unit.

According to the human rights activist, medical assistance is also received by the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal, who was arrested on charges of organizing murders and attempted murder (he is also being held in Lefortovo). He previously complained of allergic rashes on his hands.

Sergei Furgal told the PMC that he had received the first transmission, and in the near future they would deliver the second one to his cell. At the same time, Melnikov noted that the television in the governor’s cell still does not work, although he received an antenna.

“Representatives of the SIZO administration promised to replace him with a TV. In addition, the kettle handed over to him was not accepted in the insulator, since its power exceeds the allowed (600 W) internal regulations, ”the human rights activist said.

On July 16, 2020, the Moscow City Court rejected complaints about the arrests of former journalist Kommersant and Vedomosti, adviser to the general director of Roskosmos Ivan Safronov, and governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal.
