The self-samples for the coronavirus made in Skåne, Blekinge and Halland are sent to a laboratory for analysis. But now there are reports that a large proportion of the tests can not be assessed.

- Just over 20 percent of all samples that have been analyzed so far have not been able to be assessed. Too many people who take the test do not get an answer as to whether they have covid-19 or not, says infection control doctor Mattias Waldeck to SVT News.

Blekinge changes lab

In Blekinge, the opportunity to take samples at home has now been stopped due to the shortcomings. Instead, Region Blekinge will hire a new lab. Sampling operations are expected to resume on 27 July.

- We are absolutely not satisfied and we are constantly working to improve this. We see, after the measure we have just taken, significantly better figures, says Anne Kihlgren, CEO of the analysis company Dynamic Code. Photo: SVT

- So far, there are so many who receive an adequate message that we see that this is a great benefit for the citizens. We also see that it relieves primary care a lot when it comes to sampling for covid-19, says Mattias Waldeck.

- We are not currently prepared to take a break. But it must of course be re-evaluated afterwards.

Put in action

The analysis company Dynamic Code is aware of the shortcomings.

- We are absolutely not satisfied and we are constantly working to improve this. We see, after the measure we have just taken, significantly better figures, says CEO Anne Kihlgren.
