The value of the stock represents more than one million euros. Tuesday morning, customs officials made an important discovery during a random check at the Corzé (Maine-et-Loire) toll booth, on the A11 motorway. According to Le Courrier de l'Ouest , 12,500 cartons of cigarettes (2.5 tonnes) were found in a truck that had left Belgium and was traveling towards Saint-Nazaire.

At the wheel of the truck, a 37-year-old man of Armenian nationality was placed in customs detention, the equivalent of police custody. He could not clearly explain the origin of the goods, or for whom it was intended. He could be tried this Thursday in immediate appearance.
