Today, around 450 to 500 children and young people in Östergötland are placed in treatment homes (HVB) or family homes. Of these, 36 percent are placed in HVB and 64 percent in family homes.
- 1600 children and young people in Östergötland are placed in family homes or HVB homes. It is important that efforts are made for the children based on their needs, and at the right time. This agreement will provide increased conditions for efforts from social services, school and care to be given with the children's needs in the center, says regional councilor Helena Balthammar (S), 1st vice chair of the health and medical care committee in Region Östergötland, in a press release.
Better collaborationThe overall goal is for children and young people who are placed outside their own home to have access to health and medical care on the same terms as others, and there will be a collaboration between the social services and the health and medical care.
