China News Service, July 15th, according to the European Union, citing the Greek European Union News Agency reported on the 15th, the outbreak disrupted international flights, making many people's road to home extremely remote. A university student in Greece encountered such a situation. However, he had a whimsy and decided to ride a bicycle from Scotland to his home in Greece. It took him 48 days to complete this 3500 km bike tour.

According to reports, 20-year-old Cario Papadimitrio is from Athens, Greece, studying at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and is about to progress to the third grade of the university. After the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in Europe, many classmates hurried back to their hometowns, and Papadimitrio also decided to put down his studies and go home in late March. However, the three flights he booked were all cancelled in the end.

Papa Dimitrio said that on April 1, he knew he would be quarantined in Aberdeen for the next month. The heart-shaped mood stimulated him to seek a big adventure. So while trapped in a foreign land, he began to study the feasibility of cycling back to Athens from Scotland.

Papa Dimitrio has been training for several weeks in 2019 in order to participate in cycling competitions, but this is his entire cycling experience. He admits that instead of saying this is an idea, it is just a "daydream".

Even so, he still started to prepare to buy a bicycle and other required equipment. He mentioned this to his parents, and they also agreed, but not because they trusted him, but because "they think I will give up this idea in the end."

Although parents are not optimistic about their son's ideas, they always care about their children's safety. Papa Dimitrio’s father demanded that if he really did this big adventure, he must set up a trackable app to let his family know where he is riding now.

On May 10, Papada Dimitrio began his journey with several canned sardines, bread, sleeping bags and bicycle equipment. He travelled south from Scotland to England, then to the Netherlands, along the Rhine across Germany and Austria, then to Italy, from the port on the west coast of Italy to the Greek port of Patras, and then from Patras to the east by bicycle. Finally arrived in his hometown of Athens.

In the process, Papadimitrio once set up a tent overnight in the wild woods, wrote a diary every day, confirmed the next day's route, and reported safety to relatives and friends; occasionally he would stay at a friend's house and enjoy a bed and shower a feeling of.

In order to seek help, Papa Dimitrio, who is not outgoing, must break through himself: "As a relatively introverted person, I have to step out of the comfort zone a little because I know that if I do nothing, I may not Overnight, or no water. These demands forced me to have contact and interaction with the outside world."

On June 27, nearly 50 days after the departure date, Papada Mitrio finally arrived home. He was welcomed when he arrived, in addition to his family and a bunch of friends to greet him, as well as strangers who tracked this bike adventure through the Internet.

Looking back on this journey, Papa Dimitrio said that this adventure gave him more confidence in himself.

He also encourages everyone to set a goal for themselves, "When you set a goal with a high threshold, and you also try to complete this huge challenge, whether you succeed or not, you will make progress. You will learn about yourself Some things, and these things will surprise you even yourself." (Liang Manyu)
