- The big gap for us will be in August, when many kick-offs and such are canceled. Only there have we lost SEK 4-5 million, says Mattias Nord, CEO of Karlstad CCC.

The open letter was published in Örebrokuriren and has been signed by seven large meeting and event companies in Sweden. The purpose of the letter is, among other things, to find out what support opportunities there are.

- We are in a very vulnerable situation, we with large meetings and events. Parts of the hospitality industry have begun to recover thanks to hemesters, but for us, among others, it is worse. In principle, we have a business ban due to the ban on public gatherings. An entire industry stands still and there is a limit to how long we can handle it, says Mattias Nord.

Wants to have guidelines clarified

The open letter also aims to clarify the guidelines for the ban on public gatherings of more than 50 people.

- The ban applies to gatherings where anyone can participate, but is generalized to apply to all meetings, even those with a closed circle of participants, such as our meetings. This needs to be clarified, because security does not have to be a numerical issue. Parts of our business could be implemented with adaptations so that you can keep your distance, for example, says Mattias Nord.
