Qatar Airways announced today, Wednesday, that it will seek full compensation for the "illegal air blockade" imposed by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt on Doha since 2017, while Fox News considered that the ruling of the International Court of Justice may pave the way for ending the siege imposed on Diameter.

The US network said that the decision of the International Court of Justice would help pave the way for ending the crisis that has lasted 3 years, which "could cost Iran hundreds of millions of dollars."

Iran benefits from the air embargo, because it forces Qatari aircraft to fly in its airspace, and pay flight fees, thus providing Tehran with a significant source of income.

These developments come the day after the International Court of Justice issued a ruling in favor of Qatar in its dispute with its Gulf neighbors and Egypt.

Court judges rejected "unanimously" an appeal filed by Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Manama and Cairo by a decision issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization in 2018, which was in Qatar's interest.

For its part, Qatar Airways said - in a statement - that it will follow up on the case filed to obtain appropriate compensation for the financial damages incurred due to the blockade countries closing their airspace to Qatar Airways flights.

The Qatar Airways statement continued, "These arbitrary and harmful measures taken by the four countries of the blockade against us have caused serious damage to our investment and development plans in these countries."

The Qatari company added that the blockade resulted in depriving it of serving hundreds of thousands of travelers, and transporting tens of thousands of tons of goods every year to all countries.

In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt severed all ties with Qatar; For accusing her of "financing terrorism" and supporting Iran, charges that Doha denied.
