NBA top scorer James Harden arrived in Orlando Tuesday evening to join the Houston Rockets to resume the season on July 30, while the Sacramento Kings will have to wait for Harrison Barnes, who tested positive for coronavirus.

The Houston star arrived in the NBA "bubble" at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, five days after his Rockets team. No reason was given for Harden's late arrival, but he must quarantine himself in his hotel room before he can join the team to train.

Before the season broke on March 11, Harden averaged 34.4 points per game and pounced for the third straight league scoring title.

Russell Westbrook, with whom he forms one of the most feared duos in the NBA, is missing, having tested positive for Covid-19, as he announced himself on Monday on social networks.

Like him, Sacramento winger Harrison Barnes, also tested positive for the virus and placed in quarantine, will only be allowed to join his franchise once tested negative twice consecutively. In a tweet on Tuesday evening, Barnes said he hoped to be in good health in order to reach the Disney World campus in Orlando.

Meanwhile, team training continued Wednesday in the city of Florida where the 22 NBA clubs have taken up residence and will compete in camera for the rest of the season from July 30.
