July 15, 2020 Well-known American immunologist Anthony Fauci, the most authoritative member of the White House task force against Covid-19, predicts that a coronavirus vaccine should be ready "within the next year, year and a half." The US media report it. The scientist said he had reassurances from the manufacturing companies that they will be able to make up to a billion doses, allowing it to be distributed not only in the US but also in the world. Fauci has specified that, even if the vaccine will not be 100% effective, the scientific community thinks that there will be a flock immunity if a sufficient number of people will be vaccinated with a 70% -75% effective one.

According to Fauci the coronavirus is potentially as devastating as the Spanish in 1918, "the mother of all pandemics" which killed 50 million people worldwide. "In the US, the situation is serious," he said, with more than 3.4 million cases, 136,000 deaths and the contagion curve rising in 37 states with records in Florida, Texas and Arizona. Fauci therefore urged the young people "not to be a part of the problem" because if it is true that they are infected less or with less serious effects, they remain a dangerous transmission vehicle.
