The Indian pharmaceutical company, "Zedos", announced today, Wednesday, that it has started clinical trials in humans of a possible vaccine for Coronavirus.

The company said, in a statement, that the first human test for its vaccine "Zikov-D" took place today.

The vaccine elicited a strong immune response during experiments on different types of animals, including mice, porcine capes and rabbits. No safety concerns were identified.

The company said: "In rabbits, it was found that three times the dose intended for humans to be safe, tolerable and provide immunity."

India, like many other countries, is taking a fast track to support the development of a vaccine against the Coronavirus, amid increasing numbers of infections and deaths.

India ranks third in the world, after the United States and Brazil, in terms of the number of corona injuries, as it recorded more than 936 thousand injuries, in addition to recording 24,209 deaths, according to the latest data of the Indian Ministry of Health.
