Operation Berkane Fury, of the Libyan National Accord government, released a picture it said showed military supplies coming from Egypt to the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar, in light of the military build-up around the Libyan city of Sirte.

The management of the anger volcano operation said on its Facebook page today, Wednesday, that the photo was taken in the city of Tobruk, near the Egyptian border.

The spokesman for the Al-Wefaq forces, Colonel Mohamed Qanunu, warned Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi that his country would face the same chaos that he said he was growing in Libya.

Kanounou asked in his Twitter account whether President Sisi was not afraid to return the weapons he is distributing in Libya across the border, or facing the same chaos he is sowing in Libya on the doorstep of the Federal Palace in Cairo.

The Tobruk Parliament, which was convened in eastern Libya - allied to Haftar - had said in a statement issued yesterday, Tuesday, that the Egyptian armed forces interfered to protect the Libyan and Egyptian national security if they saw that there was an imminent threat to the two countries.

The statement added that it renews the welcoming of what came in the Egyptian President’s speech on June 20, in which he said that exceeding the city of Sirte (450 km east of Tripoli) or the base of Jafra - which is located in the south - is a red line for Cairo.

This development comes amid talk about Egyptian military movements near the border with Libya, the latest of which was the "decisive 2020" maneuvers that the Egyptian army said was aimed at "eliminating mercenaries from irregular armies."

About a month ago, the Egyptian President had said that his country's direct intervention in Libya was enjoying "international legitimacy", calling on the Egyptian army to be prepared to undertake any mission abroad if necessary.

Al-Wefaq forces and their supporters are preparing to storm the city of Sirte after recovering the southern suburbs of Tripoli and the city of Tarhuna (80 km southeast of the capital) early last month.

Vanguards of Al-Wefaq forces went to the city after skirmishes with the Egyptian-backed Haftar forces, and no major confrontations occurred, while military sources reported that Russian militants had mined several areas in Sirte.
