After the huge fire caused by a leak in a diesel line on the desert road linking the capital, Cairo, to the city of Ismailia, controversy continued on social media, amid accusations of the authority in Egypt of neglect and default.

The fire injured 17 people and destroyed more than 30 cars. In addition, some shops in the accident area were damaged, and citizens were terrified for several hours due to the huge fire and the delay in controlling it.

The Ministry of Petroleum stated that the accident was caused by a fracture in a pipeline transporting oil ores from Ras Shuqair on the Red Sea to the refinery in Mostorod, south of Cairo, noting that the pipeline is buried at a depth of one and a half meters below the surface of the earth, and there are rooms to control the operation of the pipeline network that enable From the speed of detection of any leakage and thus face it.

God protect us ..

The ministry spokesman confirmed to the local media that the emergency and maintenance teams moved quickly to the place of the leak, but the leak of the leak was strong, stressing that no one knows yet the reason for breaking this pipeline and thus the leak of the crude, as the Public Prosecution is currently investigating the matter.

The spokesman concluded that such petroleum accidents happen in all countries of the world, blaming what he described as human errors and the lack of commitment of citizens, considering that this is the cause of a fire in the leaking diesel.

However, the situation was different in the communication sites, where activists criticized what they described as the neglect of the authority in Egypt, especially since the accident was not the first, as last November witnessed an oil pipeline explosion in Beheira Governorate, which led to a huge fire that caused the death of 9 people and injured 11 others, as well as material losses.

Although an official at the Ministry of Petroleum pledged to compensate those affected by the fire, some commentators poured out their anger at the authority, and some considered that it was too late to move to stop the leakage and besiege it before the fire occurred.

The media had seen several people posting footage showing fuel oil leaks, before the fire broke out due to a spark from a car, according to local media. In the absence or delay of official intervention, they made sure to warn car owners not to approach the area.

I do not imagine that the words of the people are correct because, frankly, if true, they will be disastrous neglect ... It is reasonable that this pipe of diesel was broken and the people reported it and the official did not respond until the terrible catastrophe occurred

Others chose to ridicule the current authority’s failure in many tasks, and one commentator said that the authority’s tasks are greater than the current President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in reference to a similar description that the media had given to the late President Mohamed Morsi during the escalation of pressure on him before the military coup led by Sisi In July 2013 when he was defense minister.

While others asked about Egypt's ability to proceed with Sisi’s announcement of building a nuclear power plant, and she cannot efficiently counter such small incidents!
