It was in mid-June that the customs raided a warehouse in Eskilstuna.

Nearly 1.6 million smuggled cigarettes and 120 liters of alcohol were found in a maple compartment in a table and in cardboard boxes on the floor. The remaining 360,000 cigarettes were found in a van.

Four million in tax money

Two people are now being prosecuted, a 21-year-old and a 36-year-old resident of Latvia, on suspicion of grossly illegal possession of excise goods. The prosecutor also demands deportation for the two defendants.

According to the indictment, the two men withheld the state just over four million kronor in taxes and fees.

However, the two suspects deny any wrongdoing.
