“An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred on Wednesday at 00:21 (16:21 Moscow time Tuesday) near the southern Kuril Islands. The epicenter of tremors was at a point with coordinates 43.8 degrees north latitude and 147.3 east longitude - 116 km east of Yuzhno-Kurilsk in Kunashir, ”said Yelena Semenova, head of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk seismic station.
The outbreak was located at a depth of 183 km.
