The banal operation could have turned into a drama. Tuesday night July 14, a firefighter was wounded by gunshot while he was in intervention, learned 20 minutes from police source. At around 11 p.m., the fire soldiers were called to the Guillemettes district of Etampes in Essonne to intervene on a burning vehicle.
A few minutes after the start of operations, a police team also arrives on the scene to secure the work of firefighters as is often the case during interventions by firefighters in sensitive neighborhoods. But soon after their arrival, the officials saw the firefighters running in their direction, indicating that they had been shot. One of them, injured in the calf, was taken to hospital.
The investigation was entrusted to the departmental security of Essonne. No arrest has yet taken place.
