- There was a lot of pressure from the emergency hospitals initially. Many of those who came were very sick corona patients.

The words are the chief nurse Johanna Pelttaris and she describes what the situation was like when the ward just opened. But when SVT now returns to the department at the end of June 2020, the picture is not quite so dark.

Because as the Stockholm Region increased the capacity of covid 19 care during the spring, fewer of the most seriously ill came to Nacka Hospital. Of the 150 patients treated in the hospital's two covid wards, 80 percent of the patients have survived the disease.

- I have had contact with several of the patients who have been discharged and declared healthy. They are extremely grateful. It is almost as if they felt that they had their lives back, says Johanna Pelttari.
