The Egyptian Ministry of Health confirmed that 14 people were injured as a result of a massive fire in the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road, while the Ministry of Petroleum announced the control of the fire that broke out at the Shuqair-Mostorod pipeline to transport crude oil.

The authorities said that the fire that occurred yesterday, Tuesday, inside the borders of Cairo Governorate, was caused by a broken line and a spark caused by the crowding out of cars on the road.

Initially, the official statements about the fire were inconsistent, as a first version stated that it was caused by a coupé of a car carrying fuel, before the second version came, confirming that there was a leak from the line.

Video footage posted on social media showed a large fire spreading about a hundred meters, while the authorities pushed about 15 fire trucks to control the fire that caused the traffic crisis.

Eyewitnesses in Egypt have documented video leaks of the oil pipeline before it flared up, and the clips showed the presence of an oil pool in the area due to the leaking of an oil pipeline, amid warnings to passers-by being cautious and cautious while passing the road next to the leak.

Witnesses confirmed that the leak occurred hours before the outbreak of the fire and that the matter could have been contained before it caused a disaster.

The injured were taken to Al-Salam Hospital, and one of the hospital's doctors said that he witnessed the influx of the injured, adding that the situation was "not promising," as he put it.
