It is noted that against the background of this decision of the CEC, calls for protests appeared in social networks. Some of the residents of the Belarusian capital after this went to Independence Avenue.

Law enforcement authorities detained some participants in the procession.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus announced the inadmissibility of the participation of citizens in illegal mass events. The department said that police officers will take all measures to maintain public order and suppress illegal actions.

“Any provocations will be suppressed in accordance with applicable law,” the department said.

As RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Vesna human rights center, unregistered by the Belarusian authorities, more than 100 people were detained in Belarus on unauthorized protests on July 14.

Earlier, the CEC of Belarus registered five candidates for the presidential election.
