“The position of the Foreign Ministry on this issue is as clear as possible, it has been officially declared: Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili is a private person and in his comments on the situation in Georgia does not represent the position of Ukraine,” Interfax quoted him as saying.

He noted that in general, the situation around Saakashvili’s remarks “is regrettable”.

Earlier, the Ukrainian ambassador to Tbilisi, Igor Dolgov, was called to the Georgian Foreign Ministry for clarification on the statements of the former Georgian leader, head of the executive committee for reform of Ukraine, Mikhail Saakashvili. Saakashvili said in a video message to his supporters that he did not recognize the current Georgian authorities as legal.
