Just in time for many Swedes to take their vacation, the cold shower came. Literally. July has so far been unusually cold and many in the cottages are hoping for a turnaround. It now looks set to come, albeit only temporarily.

- The heat comes in and remains during Friday, Saturday, Sunday and partly Monday as well. But then it looks like the cold air is back again at the beginning of next week, says SVT's meteorologist Åsa Rasmussen.

The reason why we have had such a cold start in July is largely the fault of the so-called jet streams. According to Åsa Rasmussen, the air currents have been locked south of Sweden throughout July and drawn in cold air, but now it looks like they will move north of Sweden instead and thus give warmer winds.

But we will not see any similar temperatures as in June for a while, according to Åsa.

- Maybe a single day, but it does not look like really hot air. It looks like we get between 20 and 25 degrees, and probably some showers as well.
