The United Arab Emirates called for an immediate ceasefire in Libya, and to enter into a dialogue between the Libyan parties, and within clear international references, while the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Aqeela Saleh, referred to a close meeting between the Libyan parties to resolve the crisis.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Anwar Gargash, in a tweet on his account on the social networking site «Twitter»: «The drums of war, which is beating around Sirte in sister Libya, threatens the development of serious and dangerous humanitarian and political consequences».

Gargash continued: "We call on the UAE to immediately stop the shooting, to prevail over wisdom, and to enter into a dialogue between the Libyan parties, and within clear international references, and ignore the regional incitement and its goals."

For his part, the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament, Aqila Saleh, stressed that the damages of the Libyan war will extend to distant places and other countries, if no solution is reached, revealing a close meeting, in the next two days, between the Libyan parties.

He stressed, in an interview with Al-Arabiya TV yesterday, that the Cairo Declaration found wide support from neighboring countries and the international community, in order to solve the crisis in Libya, pointing out that other initiatives to support it could be accepted.

He revealed that there is a call for all Libyan parties to heal the dialogue, within the next two days, in order to find a solution to the crisis in Libya. He explained that this call was unanimously accepted by the international community, with an emphasis on the ceasefire between the two parties.

He said: «I visited Russia, Egypt and Geneva to find a solution to the crisis, and I had a meeting with Stephanie Williams, the Deputy UN envoy to Libya, and we asked the UN mission to continue its work, and to confirm the ceasefire, in response to the request of the international community, and the Cairo Declaration ».

Regarding the dialogue between the Libyan Parliament and the Council of State, Saleh affirmed that he had not interrupted, but his closing stages did not reach the designation of a remote president, adding that the election steps are still continuing.

He stressed that "the dialogue will continue, and what is agreed upon by the House of Representatives and the Council of State is correct," adding: "The President of the Council of State will not be named, unless after the political agreement is included in the constitutional declaration."

On the other hand, in the city of Tobruk, the Libyan parliament authorized the Egyptian armed forces to intervene to protect the Libyan and Egyptian national security, "if the need arises."

This came in a statement published by the Council on its official website, yesterday morning.

"The concerted Libyan and Egyptian efforts preserve our common national security, and achieve security and stability in our country and the region, and the Egyptian armed forces can intervene to protect the Libyan and Egyptian national security, if they see an imminent imminent threat to the security of our two countries," the statement said.

He stated that «the Libyan parliament is the only legitimate representative of the Libyan people, and the representative of his free will, confirms his welcome to what was stated in the speech of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in the presence of representatives of the Libyan tribes».

In its statement, the Council affirmed ensuring the equitable distribution of the Libyan people's wealth and oil revenues, and ensuring that they are not tampered with.
