The report, quoted by RIA Novosti, indicates that on July 14, Russian airspace controls detected air targets over the Barents and Black Seas that were flying in the direction of the Russian border.
In order to identify and intercept targets, air fighters of the air forces of the Northern Fleet and the Southern Military District were raised.
Aerial targets were identified, they turned out to be reconnaissance aircraft. It is noted that the P-3C "Orion" of the Norwegian Air Force was discovered over the Barents Sea. Over the Black Sea, the US Navy R-8A "Poseidon" aircraft, the US Air Force RC-135 and the MQ-9A Riper UAV were identified.
Russian fighters escorted the aircraft at a safe distance and returned to the airfields after they were removed from the state border of Russia.
It is noted that no violations of the state border were committed. At the same time, flights were carried out in strict accordance with international standards.
