Qatar Airways Group issued its annual report 2018-2019, and said that it highlights the strong financial condition of the group, and its ability to withstand the current blockade of the airspace of the State of Qatar.

Total revenue for the group grew by 14%, to reach 48 billion riyals ($ 13.2 billion), while Qatar Airways Air Cargo became the largest air cargo company in the world, according to a statement by the group.

"The fiscal year 2018-2019 was a year of successes and achievements for Qatar Airways, and despite facing unparalleled challenges in the global aviation sector (...) we have achieved significant growth at the level of the aircraft fleet and the network of destinations (...), and we have also increased In terms of passenger numbers and capacity, Qatar Airways has now become the world's largest air cargo company. ”

Challenges
Al-Baker added that "despite these accomplishments and successes, we faced many challenges and difficulties that affected our financial results, to record a net loss of 2.3 billion Qatari riyals (639 million dollars)."

He attributed this to the loss of destinations that were very popular, and the rise in fuel prices and fluctuations in exchange rates, but he added, "The foundations of our business are still very strong and have not been affected by this loss."

New destinations
- Qatar Airways launched 11 new destinations in 2019.

The carrier has added 31 destinations to its global network of destinations since the siege began in June 2017 until September 1.

The number of destinations that Qatar Airways flies to has increased to more than 160 destinations around the world.

Qatar Airways added 25 new aircraft to its fleet of aircraft, currently reaching 250 aircraft.

The company has more than 300 aircraft on demand, valued at more than $ 85 billion.

Additional investment
- Qatar Airways has acquired 5% of the total capital advertised on China Southern Airlines.

The group has investments in international airlines such as Air Italy, Cathay Pacific, International Airlines Group, JetSuite and Latam.

Qatar Airways Group's total investments amounted to 16.1 billion riyals ($ 4.4 billion) in aircraft and other assets, such as global airlines, during the 2018-2019 fiscal year.
