Victoria Day has been celebrated for 40 years on the Crown Princess' birthday on 14 July. This year she turns 43 years old and just like for many other Swedes, the birthday celebrations have had to be scaled down and adapted to the advice to keep your distance and avoid crowds. Normally, thousands of islanders and tourists celebrate the Crown Princess on Öland.

Very small audience

This year, the artists Linnea Henriksson, The Mamas, Petra Marklund, Anne Sofie von Otter and Oscar Stembridge performed in front of a very small audience on site in Borgholm's castle ruins.

It was largely only parts of the royal family and pole vaulter Armand Duplantis, who received this year's Victoria Prize. The rest of the audience got to listen to the concert from the TV couch.
