This Monday, the Ventura County Police (in California, USA) confirmed the death of the actress Naya Rivera after identifying her body in the lake where she disappeared last Wednesday when she went sailing with her son.
The hope of finding alive the interpreter were practically nil since late last week and since the search efforts were activated has worked with the hypothesis of a drowning accidental.
A theory confirmed by Bill Ayub , county sheriff, at a press conference, after the discovery of the body floating in the northeast area of the lake where the depth is between 10 and 18 meters.
In addition, Ayub revealed that the Glee actress would have used her last strength to save her four-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, by taking him to the boat. "She gathered enough energy to get her son back to the boat, but not enough to save himself," he said.
And it is that, apparently, Rivera's son told investigators that he and his mother had gone swimming, but that, at one point during the return, he looked back and saw his mother disappear underwater.
Josey was found alone in the boat, asleep and wearing a life jacket put on by the workers of the company where Rivera rented the boat, who came looking for her when they saw that she was not returning at the agreed time.
