On the night of a Saturday in mid-May, 20-year-old Adam Grinde was stabbed in central Uppsala. Three days later he died at the Academic Hospital.

The man in his 20s, who has since been detained on suspicion of murder, granted an extended period of prosecution on Monday, ie he will continue to be detained without a new trial.

However, this does not mean that he has admitted any crime.

- He denies crime. We felt that there was nothing to indicate that he would be released as the investigation is - from what I understand - in its final stages, says the man's lawyer Marcus Lodin.

How is your client?

- It is always tough to be in custody, but he is in good spirits.

SVT Nyheter Uppsala has previously reported that a knife has been found at the suspect's home.

- It is under investigation whether it is the knife in question, prosecutor Kristoffer Sahlin has said.

Prosecution is expected to be filed no later than August 11.
