It is noted that the parties discussed the dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection in Russia and the USA, “the peculiarities of its development in individual regions of the states, as well as the issues of providing timely and high-quality medical care to patients with COVID-19 and people at risk."

Murashko is reportedly "proposing a meeting with representatives of the expert community of the two states in the form of video conferencing to exchange experience in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus."

The meeting also discussed “issues of the development and production in Russia and the USA of means for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, including vaccines against COVID-19.”

According to the Russian Ministry of Health, during the conversation "a high level of mutual assistance provided by states during the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection was noted."

The report said that Sullivan "expressed gratitude to the Russian side for providing medical equipment in the early stages of the spread of coronavirus infection in the United States."

In response, Murashko “thanked the American colleagues for the batch of mechanical ventilation devices donated to Russia that will be used in Russian regions.”

In early June, the US Embassy announced the arrival in Moscow of an airplane with a batch of mechanical ventilation devices as a support measure against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.
