Invited Tuesday from Europe 1, Orlane François, the president of Fage, the first student organization in France, regrets that the measures announced by the Head of State for July 14 do not concern all French youth.

INTERVIEW

Emmanuel Macron presented this Tuesday noon during the interview of July 14, a plan to promote the employment of young people, first concerned by the consequent economic crisis, that, health, related to the coronavirus. But the measures of the Head of State, among which the exemption from charges for young people, 300,000 integration contracts or 100,000 civic services, are deemed insufficient by Orlane François, the president of Fage, the first student organization in France . Why ? Because, she believes, the battery of measures presented by the President of the Republic does not concern all young people, forgetting in particular apprentices and Master students who will find themselves on the job market.

The "exceptional exemption from charges for young people", planned for "one to two years", presented this Tuesday by Emmanuel Macron aims to promote the hiring of employees 'with low qualifications, up to 1.6 times the minimum wage' However, according to Orlane François, interviewed by Europe 1, "Master students do not meet the criteria given by the President of the Republic for the exemption from charges. And these students, who are going to graduate from a Master 2, are going to be looking for a job now and are going to be in trouble to find. And these are not students who have a very high social capital as some might believe, "said the president of Fage.

A "real problem"

So, of course, Orlane François recognizes the "important priority given to young people who are unskilled or unskilled, because they are the ones who are furthest from employment". But she considers the lack of consideration for these Master 2 as a "real problem", "as is already the case for learning, from which young people are once again excluded from these announcements".

During the presentation of his measures in favor of youth employment, Emmanuel Macron also mentioned 200,000 places in qualifying training courses to extend studies. "We will allow young people who had to enter the job market, perhaps, to complete their training, to have a semester or a year of study in addition," he explained.
