The patient came to Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö with breathing problems. The healthcare staff suspected that the patient could be infected with covid-19 and isolated the person. However, the test results were negative, instead it turned out to be about the lung disease carbon.
The isolation was lifted and the patient was allowed to lie in the same room as another patient. After a few days of treatment, the patient returned to his nursing home. There, however, he became feverish and had a cough and after a new sampling it turned out that the patient was then infected with covid-19.
In a Lex Maria report, the hospital writes that the patient died in covid 19 and that it is suspected that he was infected at the hospital.
