If you have a cabin or are registered in Finland, you have the right to enter the country. Still, it was a hassle for Micael Blomster.

On the Finnish side of the bridge, in Aavasaksa, he was stopped by border control. Then the situation escalated.

Police report established

- When he saw that I was Swedish, it was like I was just scum, says Micael Blomster.

Some cultural difference

The Finnish Border Guard patrols the Torne River both on land and by boat and jet ski.

Jari Rautala is the situation leader at the border crossing in Tornio. He says that there may be some cultural difference for the border guards because most of them are used to guarding the Russian border on a daily basis.

Also positive experiences

Kyösti Murtomäki lives in Haparanda and has a mother in Finland. He has only positive experiences of crossing the national border.

- I think they do a good job the boys and girls at the Border Guard, says Kyösti Murtomäki.
