Briton Sam Bird will leave Virgin Racing to join Jaguar Racing in the next Formula E season, which begins in January 2021, the two teams announced in press releases on Tuesday.
Engaged in the 100% electric single-seaters category since its debut in 2014, still with Virgin Racing, Bird, 33, has nine victories, eighteen podiums and five pole positions.
He will be associated with the current New Zealand pilot Mitch Evans.
Season 7 of Formula E will begin on January 16, 2021 in Santiago de Chile. In the meantime, to conclude season 6, six races will take place in Berlin, in the old Tempelhof airport, from August 5 to 13.
