US media reported that the administration of President Donald on Tuesday retracted a decision announced last week that would have canceled the visas of foreign students whose universities decide to complete their studies remotely due to the Corona pandemic.

She explained that the announcement of the White House retracting this decision came at the start of a judicial session in Boston that was dedicated to hearing a lawsuit filed by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to nullify the decision.

Massachusetts District Judge Allison Burroughs was quoted as saying that the US government, Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who have filed lawsuits related to this measure, reached a settlement that would halt the new rules and restore the former.

In addition to the Harvard legal process, a series of similar lawsuits have been filed, including one filed by a coalition of state governments.

Universities considered that the procedure was illegal and would adversely affect their academic institutions.

Big technology companies and dozens of colleges and universities have filed notes with the court, opposing these rules.

More than a million foreign students study in American colleges and universities, and many colleges depend on their revenues for those students who often pay full fees.
